Seagull mountain resort

   Before year 2012 will come to an end, FACEVo.C (Friends and Adorers of Christ in the Eucharist Vocation Club) had their R & R (Recollection and Recreation) at Seagull Mountain Resort. It is located at Barangay Lorega, Marilog District, along Davao - Bukidnon road. Seagull is a good place for people who are looking for quiet and cool place to stay with.

   Buses from Davao to Cagayan and vice versa will pass here since it is situated near the highway. If you are planning to go here, I suggest that you should hire any vehicle to take you here since buses are full of passenger and you may find it hard to go home.

   Upon arrival, we went directly to our cottage. Unfortunately we were surprised to see that the room that we reserved (campsite) was so small. That's why we decided to change our reservation and get another bigger room.

   After we settled to our room and ate some snacks, we started the first activity which is the recollection. Sr. Mary Ann Mateo, SSS, our spiritual director lead us into silence and prayer.

   Sr. Ma Ann, then asked us to reflect regarding the big events that happened to us this year. She told us to draw something about important happenings that we can't forget and she instructed us to get some materials that would symbolize that specific event.

   Our spiritual director then made us reflect about God's message to us on those important event and she informed us to jot down the lessons that we got through those experiences. The beautiful and serene place help us to reflect and talk to God. After the reflection, we shared it and ate dinner. We had a small meeting afterwards and went to bed right away. 

   On our second day in Buda, we had the recreation time! We started the day by cooking our breakfast. We bought along with us various cooking materials and cooked hot dog and corned beef. We then headed to their waterfalls, there is a free shuttle that will take you to the waterfalls. It is more or less five minutes from the resort to the waterfalls.

Good morning people!

   Originally, the group planned to have shibashi but when we arrived to the place it was packed with people so we decided to proceed to the next activity which is the game time.

Since there are only few of us and we have limited time, we just played 2 games. After playing we had our exchanging of gifts.

   After we exchange our gifts, we dipped right away to the waterfalls. It was sooo cold, it took us awhile before we soaked our body to the water.

   There are a lot of things that you can do in Seagull not only for swimming and reflecting. They have different amenities that visitors can look forward to such as: coffee shop, golf course, tent area for picnic, pavilion for social functions, and restaurant.

   There is also a chapel in the resort, it is called the "Our Lady of Manaoag Chapel" and of course people can do way of the cross in the resort.

Having a cool weather all year round makes it known as the summer capital of Mindanao since it is a good place especially in Summer. Plus it is not crowded and less than two hours from the city makes it convenient for tourist to visit this place.

   I highly suggest that you should stay overnight to experience the fog in the afternoon and super cold weather at night.  There is nothing to worry since there are lots of cottages to choose from.

   We ended the day by attending a mass in Assumption Parish in Torres, Davao City. It was indeed a good way to say goodbye to 2012 and we are definitely ready to face 2013.
